Carol Brown runs new class @ Atwater IKF Season Opener (See pictures)

I ran the Yamaha 100cc and Parilla 125 in the new Rocket Kart. My Brother, sister-in-law and nieces were even there too!! I finished 13th out of 26 on Saturday. Not great but not bad considering there was a lot of competition.

Saturday night we pulled the 100cc motor off and put on a Parilla 125 motor (for the 1st time) twice the HP and ran it on Sunday. There were 37 karts in the class!! Wow, it was wild. Anyway, I did not do as well as I wanted. There were so many karts I don't really know where I finished. I do know it was in the back somewhere... But I finished!! Some of the best drivers didn't even do that!! Some guy took me out in turn 2 and I had to play catch up. By the end of the race I was moving up but it was just to late. All and all, it was fun racing with all my friends.

We have a few adjustments to make on the kart, move the seat, etc. This is my first race in the new chassis. Chassis was good with the 100cc motor, but switching a motor with a different compound tire will take more testing. Good job to Scotty for getting this motor swap done Saturday night after working all day Saturday!!

My crew chief (Big Scott Conway) feels that the kart is not set up correctly for my size yet. So with some adjustments, and testing we should be back on track. Maybe not in front, but hopefully a little closer!! Don't worry, I will always try to be out front, but this competition is heavy at these races. I don't give up and I always race to win.

I had a great time and the competition in IKF is impressive; that's why I really enjoy running this race series.

A special thanks to Team MMI Scott Conway and Bill Mayer for a great chassis and track side support; A Touch of Mesquite for a new helmet this year and great food at the track; Michael Corby of Corby Concepts for a beautiful paint job on my helmet; Power Works for the 100cc Motor; GoneRacin'USA for great race apparel and a cool driving suit; Bobby's Express for my tires and Young's Customs Plastics for the Decals.

A huge thanks goes to Greg Buur at Go Racing Magazine. Because of him I'm able to share these cool pictures with you!

Thanks to all my friends and family for your continued support! I really appreciate you all and I'm sorry I don't see you as often as I would like. If you want to see me, you'll have to see me at the races!

XOXOXOXOXOXO
